English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC)
ELAC is an advisory committee whose purpose is to be a voice for English Learners and ensure that their needs are addressed in order for them to be academically successful. The responsibility of ELAC members is to:
- Advise the principal & school staff in the development of a site plan for ELs and submit the plan to School Site Council (SSC) for consideration for inclusion in the School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) (EL Action Plan in SPSA)
- Assist with the development of the school wide needs assessment
- Assist with the school’s efforts to make parents aware of the importance of regular school attendance
- ELECT a representative to the District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC)
